Completions and Operations Engineer

Job Description:

The essential job duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Support day-to-day activity of production, completions and facilities operations teams
  • Work with engineers designing and well programing, and project management
  • Budgeting and planning lease operating expenses and expense workover programs: Managing asset performance
  • Project implementation includes drilling, completions, workovers, facilities and equipment upgrades
  • Understand issues related to oil and gas production, including by not limited to: latest applications of techniques and technology; complex operational programs that ensure adequate resource protection; new and innovative completion techniques for the extraction of hydrocarbon resources; measurement processes/practices; reservoir management; applications for permit to drill; lease valuation and fair market determinations; communization and unit agreements; and commingling and off-lease measurement.
  • Provide technical training to field personnel, including inspection and audit personnel.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and quality control relating oil and gas best practices



  • 4 year college degree in Engineering required.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in Completions, Production, and Reservoir Engineering; Facilities would be an added benefit
  • Hands on field experience will be considered an asset
  • Must have skill and expertise in preparation of technical specifications, completion procedures and operation manuals
  • Must have in-depth knowledge in all completion operations including, but not restricted to, hydraulic fracturing, matrix acid stimulations, workover rig, wireline and coil tubing operations.
  • Must have experience with artificial lift systems including but not limited to SRP, ESP, plunger lift and gas lift
  • Must have in-depth knowledge about design and selection of open and cased hole, vertical, deviated, and horizontal wells in various conditions and environments (HPHT, high corrosive, injection fluids, H2S, CO2, acids and completions fracturing fluids)
  • Prior experience with oil and gas operating companies required.  Service company experience would be an asset but not required.
  • Travel will be required

Job Description:


The Engineering Technician will work primarily with the engineering group and provide support to engineers and management as needed.  He, or she, will have good communication skills and be able to effectively work in a team environment to add efficiency to the department.  The job will generally consist of data management, reporting and regulatory filings.


Roles / Responsibilities:


  • Providing support for day-to-day engineering activities.  This will include support for, but is not limited to, drilling, completion, production and reservoir engineering groups.
  • To take ownership and manage, or develop and maintain, corporate databases containing production and reservoir data and assist engineers with the analysis of the data
  • To assist in the development of internal, and external, reports or tools to utilize production and reservoir data efficiently
  • Providing support in production surveillance and analysis to help engineers identify projects that may improve reservoir development in one or more assets
  • To take ownership and manage, or develop and maintain, procedures and tools for accurately and efficiently tracking data such as LOE, shrinkage, pricing and other critical information necessary for reserve reporting
  • To assist in compiling, analyzing and transferring data in conjunction with the year-end reserve report generation.  This includes internal activities and interaction with the External Reserve Experts
  • To manage all corporate regulatory filings with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Texas Railroad Commission or any other state or federal agency as required
  • To provide data, and support, to accounting or other departments where engineering or production data is required
  • To provide additional technical support, as directed, related to engineering data QC and analysis
  • To demonstrate and promote a positive work environment and foster a team atmosphere

  • Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
  • Support numerous stakeholders on numerous matters simultaneously
